Studiare la prevalenza e le caratteristiche del dolore cronico nei pazienti dimessi dalla terapia intensiva ed esaminare l&#8217;associazione tra dolore e disturbi psicologici. Metodi. Lo studio \u00e8 stato condotto in una terapia intensiva (TI) italiana. Sei mesi dopo la dimissione dalla TI, i pazienti sono stati richiamati per un\u2019intervista per valutare il dolore cronico (DC), l&#8217;intensit\u00e0 del dolore, la posizione del dolore e l&#8217;interferenza del dolore con le attivit\u00e0 di vita quotidiana. Durante l\u2019intervista \u00e8 stata somministrata una batteria di test psicometrici per valutare ansia, depressione, insonnia, fatigue e disturbo da stress posttraumatico (PTSD). Risultati. Un totale di 143 pazienti sono stati intervistati e 34 pazienti (23.8%) hanno riferito dolore. Il 70.6% degli intervistati che soffrivano di DC erano donne (p &lt;.001). Le aree di dolore pi\u00f9 comuni erano la spalla (16.1%), arti inferiori (11.9%) e l\u2019area lombare (11.2%). Il maggior numero di pazienti in DC (n= 14) ha avuto dolore in 4 o pi\u00f9 regioni anatomiche. La prevalenza di dolore cronico, ansia, depressione, insonnia, fatigue e PTSD \u00e8 stata rispettivamente del 23.8%, 9.1%, 13.3%, 4.2%, 5.6% e 2.1%. L&#8217;analisi multivariata ha indicato associazioni significative tra dolore cronico e ansia (p = .003), depressione (p = .015) e insonnia (p = .027). C&#8217;\u00e8 stato un grande uso di analgesici e farmaci antinfiammatori non steroidei (FANS) per il trattamento del dolore in 19 pazienti (55.9%). Discussione. Il DC sembra associato ad alcuni disturbi psicologici osservati 6 mesi dopo una degenza. In futuro, sono necessari studi che indagano sugli interventi per prevenire il dolore cronico postterapia intensiva.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"title\">Abstract<\/h2>\n<div class=\"other-lang\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div id=\"eng-abstract\" class=\"abstract-content selected\">\n<p><strong class=\"sub-title\"> Aim: <\/strong> To investigate the prevalence and characteristics of chronic postICU pain in survivors of critical illness and to examine the association between pain and psychological disorders.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sub-title\"> Methods: <\/strong> The study was carried out in an Italian ICU. Six months after ICU discharge, patients were called back for an interview for assessed chronic pain (CP), pain intensity, pain location and interference of pain with activities of daily living. During the interview a battery of psychometric test was administered for evaluate anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sub-title\"> Results: <\/strong> A total of 143 patients were interviewed and 34 patients (23.8%) reported pain. Nearly 70.6% of respondents suffering from CP were females (p&lt;.001). The most common sites of pain were the shoulder (16.1%), lower limb (11.9%) and the lumbar spine (11.2%). The largest number of CP patients (n= 14) had pain at 4 or more anatomical regions. The prevalence for chronic pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue and PTSD were 23.8%, 9.1%, 13.3%, 4.2%, 5.6% and 2.1% respectively. The multivariable analysis indicated significant associations between chronic pain and anxiety (p= .003), depression (p=.015) and insomnia (p= .027). There was a great use of analgesics and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for the pain treatment in 19 patients (55.9%).<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sub-title\"> Discussion: <\/strong> Cronic pain seems associated with some psychological disorders observed 6 months after an ICU stay.
